LIGHT WORKS
THE EDIFIER - 2022

The EDIFIER is a modular set of laser cut LED bars that operate as a unified array and can be arranged in a number of ways. It is controlled over wifi by an app on a phone or tablet.
V2 is in development for 2026.

THE SNAZBOX - 2019

The SNAZBOX is a modular set of 8 LED panels that are 4"x2'x3' each (yet operate as a single array). The panels can be arranged as to make it wider or taller. Color and pattern changes for the array are through an app on a phone or tablet.
THE ILLUMINE - 2016

The ILLUMINE was a granted art project in collaboration with The Arty Boys who produced these motion-reactive light boxes which created the kind of moving patterns of light that you just couldn't get from a lighting fixture at that time.

THE SHAPE OF THINGS - 2014
The Shape of Things was a project inspired by the platonic solids, using projection mapping & interactive feedback (using a Kinect for motion tracking) with some LED lighting for aesthetics. Moving in front of the piece allows the user to manipulate the patterns and colors. This project is also retired due to the discontinued Kinect.

THE COMBOBULATOR - 2011

The combobulator was a first foray into making public art, grant writing, and crowdfunding. Thanks to a lot of friends, a successful Kickstarter campaign, and some existing tech, our team of two designed a motion & audio reactive, video feedback projection wall. It used a Microsoft Kinect and a laptop running Quartz Composer, a MAX MSP patch, and Ableton Live to turn a person's movements into light & sound.

This project has been retired due to the outdated SDK of the discontinued Microsoft Kinect. There is a promising software called Notch that would make a new version possible so please reach out if you know this software (or something better) and would be interested in helping create V2.
